Reporter Package Pitch

Are you holding onto something that you need to let go of? What’s stopping you?

Sounds pretty deep.. Don’t worry though. I’m talking purely from a materialistic perspective.

We are all incredibly lucky to be born into a country where we have unlimited potential and resources to succeed. But we seem to value happiness too much in possessions. Our culture tells us in order to be happy, we need the latest and greatest. Whether you have the latest phone or the most expensive pair of shoes. Is that really where we find our sense of self worth? Is that stuff even necessary? Many places in the world don’t rely on or value material possessions the same way we do yet they are happy and content. I personally have spent time in developing communities outside of the US where technology, fashion, etc. had very little significance and I absolutely enjoyed it.

The main part of the project would be asking what material things people value too much, and would they be willing to get rid of it.
